The answers to these questions are general answers that apply to most of our customers.  However, these answers are superseded by any lease or contract and we recommend you check your lease for specifics.

I think I have bed bugs. What happens now?

Tell us right away, in writing if you can, so the timeline is clean. Colorado sets the clock and we work to it:

  • Within 96 hours of your notice, we arrange an inspection by a qualified inspector.
  • We give you at least 48 hours’ written notice before anyone enters to inspect or treat.
  • Within 2 business days after the inspection, you get the results in writing.
  • If bed bugs are found, treatment begins no later than 5 business days after the inspection, and we pay for it.

You have two jobs: let us in, and follow the inspector’s reasonable prep instructions. Prep is at your expense. If you knowingly and unreasonably refuse access or refuse to prep, you can be charged for treating your unit and the units next to yours.

One thing that matters more than it sounds: don’t move furniture, bedding, or clothing out of the unit until the pest control company says treatment is finished. That’s how one unit becomes four.

Tell us even if you’re not sure. The inspection costs you nothing, and bed bugs do not get better on their own.
