My lease is almost up and I don’t want to renew for another year, but I do want to extend my lease for a month or two, what do I need to do?

First, you will need to check your lease language because this might be already covered under the holdover clause. Usually the lease says that it can be converted to a month-to-month lease with a $500 one time fee and a 30% rent increase (rounded up to the nearest $10 whole number).
You should also reach out to your property manager as soon as you start considering staying so we don’t rent the unit to someone else. Also, on rare occasions it might be possible to just do a one month extension (depending on location, time of year, unit, owner, etc).
